Subs a lot of plastic in - Makes the gun lighter which means you could likely maneuver it faster. It's plastic though which can also be a downside for some people. Significantly cheaper - ~$1200 for a 1301 LE vs ~$1800+ for an M4. Has the Beretta name behind it and a pretty good track record in normal use and competitions.

Jan 19, 2022 · Savage textured the forend well, and I could do the old push/pull technique to reduce recoil and keep the gun from bucking and brawling. The Renegauge Security handled so damn well. It’s convinced me that I need one, and I want to run it besides a Beretta 1301 and Benelli M4 and see what’s what between these three guns. Rocking and Rolling
The 1301 is much lighter, which can be plus for certain uses, but home defense isn't one of them. It's also quite a bit cheaper, locally the 1301 is $1100 and the M4 is $1800, if money is at all a concern get the 1301, it's an amazing gun. I've found I prefer a traditional sporter stock on my shotguns, and would lean towards the 1301. Plus, the money you save buying the 1301 can buy you a class and ammo...The A300 has just about everything you're gonna want out of the box. If you want to buy it and forget it, the A300 Patrol would be my pick. If you're willing to sink a little money into it, I'd go with the 1301, maybe the m2/m3/m4 series. The M2 just got a facelift in their field lineup, so I would expect one soon in their tactical lineup too.
