Fishing, as funny as it sounds, can give far better prayer points than actual bones themselves so before starting combat, fish some skeleton fish. I have 4.2m prayer pts from skeleton fish alone. Barbarian fishing can also give strength xp, but its super slow. As far as levels go, equipment types follow osrs. Rune is 40, dragon is 60, etc.

One thing I did which helped a lot was actually manually running volcanic and infernal. You can just spam eat - it'll use a lot of food but it's worth it. The cape helps a lot with upping your dr so you can actually idle volcanic. If you have 85 ranged you can also manual air God a couple times to get the boots/gloves which give a nice 8% dr each.
You don't have to worry about combat really until volcanic cave or god dungeons. Ideally you're making sure you have enough DR to survive idle. Make sure you're gilding your melee armour with silver and gold. Fishing to level 80 for raw magic fish and raw skeleton fish is the only real requirement to do combat.
