I would say straight swords are always very good weapons overall thanks to the combination of slash/thrust movesets. In ds2 my favorite weapon is the warped sword tho (curved sword) but the sun sword is really good. In ds3 longsword and lkss are awesome and in ds1 the balder sword is amazing because of its range and very good damage.Used Dark Blade with +6 saint's talisman (115 spell buff) at 25 faith 10 intellect to get a total AR of 335 (97 extra damage). So I watched some dark souls 3 best weapons videos and many suggested that the lothric knight sword is the best PVE weapon in game. I managed to farm it off of knights near vordt. I am running 18 dex 18 str atm. I have a +1 claymore and +2 LKS. So far using the LKS is not as good as my claymore, which has more damage and better range.It's called super armor in fighting games and such; basically, while in hyper armor, you cannot be staggered by attacks.
