I just turned 2700 miles on my 2500 Laramie and added 2.5 gallons of DEF which bought the gage to 3/4 full. I’m now recording time and distance between regens but it’s done at least 4 times in the 2700 miles.DEF will freeze at 12 o F, so storing out of the elements is ideal. However, DEF can freeze and thaw without any negative consequences. It is common for machines to be parked outside and may be exposed to these colder temps. The on-board systems will heat up and thaw the DEF in these conditions so it can be used when needed.I emailed both Freightliner and Cummins. Responses below.
