Nov 13, 2009 · Cummins ism issue. I have a 2004 ism in a international 9400, it is burning up exhaust manifold gaskets, 3 sets in 18 months, 2 egr valve failures in a year. I know the installations were done correctly, but I am convinced I have an EGT issue, the recurring codes are for EGR pressure differential and EGR temp sensor issues. The M11 is fully rebuild-able, The biggest problem they have is the intake is flat on the head and leaks boost into the crankcase and suck oil into the intake. Water pumps are a "B". They are fuel efficient, and reliable, not the easyest to work on. Rocker arms wise, they are relatively quiet and the brake is OK.
