The door isn't really unscarthed as it still lost HP. And yes this is by design. Stone axex aren't meant to hold forever. There is also the maintenance skill now which helps keeping it up for longer. Other than that, the stone axe is really meant more as a weapon and for chopping down up to 3 trees. #1.

To actually forage you want to use the magnifying glass icon on the left hand side of your screen. Also you don't need a tree branch, you can use any old plank of wood and craft it into a spear from the crafting menu. Cave-Bunny • 10 mo. ago. I cut down trees and saw the logs. Aug 22, 2022 · Why is the Stone Axe Great? Previously named the Raw Axe, it’s a nice axe to have when you need to improvise a weapon on the go. Given how zombies can pop out of nowhere in dense forests, you need to be ready with your materials, specifically tree branches and chipped stone with a choice to bind both with twine or rags from your ripped clothing.
I think it's a bit of an issue where the old system was simply too OP to find basics to survive/make weapons. The old system, it was far too easy to forage your way to having virtually unlimited stone axes/hammers/knives (and spears, well, again it's too easy to chop a tree or tear through a bush and get stuff to make a spear).

My conclusion is that the carpentry and maintenance do not appear to make any difference to how long the chipped stone/stone knives last.Place it where you want it and push the "e" key. The bread knife is a blade weapon, therefore being influenced by the short blade skill. It only has a maximum condition of 5 and will be damaged depending on the player's maintenance skill. The chance of losing durability is: 1 in 5 hits. The weapon cannot be repaired.You can't cut down trees with a saw. To cut down trees you attack them with a weapon. Whilst an axe is the most effective way of doing it, any equippable weapon will do it. Even a fork, but that'll take some time :p.
