The engineer interface says I've unlocked grade 5 access, but I can only see a max of grade 3 power distributors, and grade 4 power plants.

My Exploraconda has a 5A power plant. Its only 10 tons wheras a 5D is 8 tons but the D rated one has 5 Mw less power and almost a 50% worse heat efficiency. I went with Armored engineering and a stripped down experimental. Armoured. Module integrity is improved with this blueprint, allowing small improvements to power generation and heat efficiency, at the cost of increased mass. The crafting cost is per 'roll'. Based on your reputation with the Engineer, the blueprint may require multiple rolls to complete.

Armored monstered or thermal spread for the plant and charge enhanced cluster capacitor for distro. Put together what you want your final build to look like first, because rolling a plant for the build you have now means you may have to re-roll when you're finished.

Overcharged. This enhancement loses module integrity and increases thermal load to provide increased power generation. The crafting cost is per 'roll'. Based on your reputation with the Engineer, the blueprint may require multiple rolls to complete. Then you go with the smallest A-rated power plant you can run that doesn't overheat or lose power to important modules. For combat, 7A might well be sufficient if you're running an efficient set of weapons (like cannons, multicannons, etc.) Power hungry or hot modules will need 8A (rails, beams, PAs.) If you're getting to rank 5 overcharged ...This double-engineered power plant is a monster! Just received delivery of the double-engineered 3A powerplant from the '9 Martyrs' CG and this thing is amazing! I know it's only a class 3 but it generates 18.24MW with an efficiency of .45 and an integrity of 137! And this is without an experimental like Thermal Spread. Powered module that increases the ship's hull integrity and resistance to Thargoid, caustic and thermic damage. — In-Game Description The Guardian Hull Reinforcement Package (sometimes abbreviated to GHRP) is a module derived from Guardian technology. When powered, it increases a ship's hull integrity by a flat value, and also boosts resistance to …

Once the distributor has enough power from plant to activate, its recharge rate and max capacity are determined by its size, class and engineering. Flow Control reduces the amount of power the distributor needs to draw from your ship's powerplant to run, meaning you can have a smaller powerplant to run your ship.

English Experimental Effect Sign in to edit An Experimental Effect, formerly known as a Special Effect, is a bonus modification that an Engineer can apply to a weapon or module that already has an Engineering modification of any quality grade.

The Pulse Laser is an energy weapon that emits intermittent laser blasts while being fired. Compared to other energy weapons, Pulse Lasers are relatively weak, but they are cheap, and their low power consumption and heat generation allows them to be fired more frequently. All newly-purchased ships, regardless of size or manufacturer, always ...For a ship the Krait's size, the maximum shields for the least weight is about 4D (enhanced low power) with one 0E shield booster (heavy duty, super capacitors). That should let you survive accidentally boosting into the ground at an angle. Likewise, engineer the lightweight bulkheads with heavy duty, deep plating. 8A Power Plant (G5 Overcharged, Thermal Spread) 7A Power Distributor (G5 Charge Enhanced, Super Conduits) ... The class and rating of distributors dictate their weight and total charge dedicated to SYS, ENG, or WEP. SYS governs energy output to modules like shield generators, ENG governs thruster speed, and WEP determines the capacitor capacitance for hardpoints. Aug 31, 2020 · For power plant I'd go armoured since you'll never have great shields in a T-9, so take the protection option and usually the best distributor engineering is charge enhanced with super conduits. Keeping 4 pips to sys will increase shield strength regardless of distributor, but I would still keep these as the biggest A rated you can get as I can ... Overload Munitions is an Experimental Effect that can be applied to a weapon through Engineering. They are experimental munitions that convert 50% of explosive damage to thermal. Sibling to the smaller Diamondback Scout, the Explorer's superior firepower and hardpoint array make it more flexible than its sister ship, while its long jump range and exceptional heat efficiency make it an excellent choice for explorers.In-Game Description …Always A-rate your power plant. it has the best heat efficiency. B-rating is the heaviest rating so don't use it if you want range. You can drop the size as low as you need, and have it still cover your power needs with engineering. This will significantly reduce mass.Yeah clean drives run cooler than dirty drives, but if you want to be cold you're better off not engineering your thrusters at all, clean clean drives are hotter than no engineering. Clean grade 1: 20% thermal load REDUCTION from standard. Clean grade 2: 30% REDUCTION. Clean grade 3: 40% REDUCTION.Engineering > guardian modules. The guardian hull reinforcement is utterly useless. The power plant and the distro are outclassed by engineering (although the power plant isn't too bad and can be an early and cheap substitute to an emgineered one). The module reinforcement and the shield booster are marginally useful and have no engineering ... 1. A bit confused about efficiency of some upgrades. On my scout Viper MKIV I have upgraded FSD to G5 Increased Range - Deep Charge. What ships may benefit from it? Should I rather stick to Mass Manager on each Ship ...Location: Shou Xing / Rascal's Choice. Specialisations: Suits, Handheld weaponry. Locked. Unlock requirements: Complete 6 Covert theft and Covert heist missions.Use a frame shift wake scanner, and sit outside a starport scanning wakes. I haven't had much luck with this, but some people swear by it. You can engineer the wake scanner as long range to reduce the amount of moving around you need to do. (This increases the power needed by a lot, so make sure you have a big enough power plant.) Video guideBut A-rated power plants generate more power per ton than D-rated power plants. And A-rated power plants generate less heat. So the only D-rated power plant you might want to use is a 2D (on an extreme stripped-down builds where you're trying to minimize weight at all costs). In all other builds, you want an A-rated power plant.

You should worry about the heat more. Prefer Armored instead of OC. They can hit your power plant, but remember they can't damage it through your shields, with the exception of Thargoid Interceptors. Given the lack of AX, I'm assuming fighting the latter isn't a design goal. You also already have module reinforcement, so that should help as well.

After satisfied, determine if an armored PP will provide enough power. Vasious said: Slow to read this. If you do have a 5% deficit, you could go with Armoured and hope you get a +5% Power output side effect. Armoured doesn't decrease your output so if the side effect is the +% Power output it is the best of both worlds. Hmm thats a very good idea, I think this is what I will do.Same with boosting your engines. While with the weapons focused one you will have to play with pips more often, as your SYS and ENG will recharge slower. Keep in mind that your pulses will not be as distributor-hungry, as other thermal weapons. In this case you might do better with the charge enhanced distributor.Significant amounts of engineering materials. You should never overcharge your powerplant unless you absolutely have to. You should always engineer your powerplants, armored with thermal spread. A G5 armored plant increases power to roughly the same as G3 overcharged while also decreasing heat, and increasing integrity obviously.
