The sub-compact XD has a 3 inch barrel. The Glock sub has a 3.5 inch barrel. Oh by the way, the two pistols are pretty much share the same external dimensions. It can be a little daunting for someone like me to dive into the rabbit hole of the gun community, but after reading a few friendly reviews and magazine articles, I narrowed my choices to the Springfield Armory XD9 and the Glock 19. I could have easily made my choice and chose the Glock, but I did not buy just yet because of the price.

Glock is a MUCH better pistol than an XD and you can actually get your Glock pistol serviced. With an XD pistol if it needs any service you have to ship it back to the manufacturer.
