The Leveling Block gives True Flat that is perfectly aligned with the game's Voxel Grid (it actually is perfectly flat), and is by far my preference (I'm so happy it's available in Adventure now). Since the entire platform is truly flat, you can expand it perfectly at any time using the Terrain Tool's default flatten mode.
True Flat doesn't "go around" anything, it is a flat plane, thus it simply exists. But, it has some quirks, the farther away from the center of the planet this plane gets, the more wonky the math gets and then it creates a new flat plane that's a slope from the original.
