@ Hit: I was planning on going for 3% hit on gear (Naxx25s Trinket + 1 SP/Hit Gem) which makes 6% hit with shadow talent without applying any debuff (theoreticly u have 6% without any hitgear as shadow, but that implies that e.g. ur fears may miss more often without dotting them first). 10% hit is hardcap in pvp, but going that far is overkill ...
Personally, İ find mage to be much more fun in Wotlk in both PvE and PvP. Fire is definitely the most fun and arguably the best spec for raiding and for me it's more engaging than just dotting the target as a shadow priest. just go shadow, i never reccomend a tank or healer for casual players, its alot more responsibility. but spriest follows a rotation while disc has a dynamic playstyle like any healer would. Disc is really fun in 5 mans but sort of does follow a rotation in raids. The only questions I know how to answer is demand and difficulty/responsibility.
