Mist generator dwarf fortress.
I copied your design and made a waterfall mist generator over multiple Z levels. But, there's a slight problem, the falling water are creating mud tiles on the grates and nearby tiles. The dwarves tries to clean them but are getting interrupted due to the constant falling water. The waterfall works otherwise, and do give the dwarves happy thoughts.
