Picked up 300SM back in June and right away ordered a hub, spokes, and 19" Excel rim for the front. Mounted up a 110/80-19 TKC80. Currently, I have a rear 300SM wheel assembly on order. The 130/80-17 TKC80 has already arrived. No plans to swap the front fender. Plenty of space for the taller rear tire.
