Out of 43 fruit that tree had I lost about 11 meaning they dropped, but others appear to be okay. The reason may have been water or lack off. Even though the tree looked healthy and there were no signs of water deprivation, figs themselves were drying up showing lots of ridges and turning pruple and dropping.

From what I understand, caprifigs are similar to "regular" figs, in that some of them require pollen to hold onto their fruit (caducous) and others do not (persistent). In order for there to be common seeds, the pollen needs to be from a persistent caprifig, as it's the father that passes on that gene.
