I highly recommend a lot of tactical retreats to get to effective range. Railgunner really is the only Survivor explicitly designed to have a bad time at close range. . Also, don't forget to adapt your playstyle based on your item RNG. If you get a lot of proc or attack speed items, then use the primary auto shot more.
