HART FOR ANIMALS! Our dogs are going to the Bed and Bark this weekend. Not only are HART staff fabulous care-givers and animal lovers, but proceeds from the Bed and Bark go to support all the rescue work they do and the new Adoption Center that will be opening this fall. 301-.387.7729
A Heart For Animals is a no-kill, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) animal rescue. We save all breeds of dogs and cats and believe that all animals deserve a chance to have a loving, forever home. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on the dedication and talents of our wonderful volunteers to achieve our mission. The HART Board of Directors is a volunteer board whose members are passionate about the welfare of animals and have the available time required to support the organization’s goals and objectives. Other qualifications include: a. A concern for the welfare of animals; b. HART for Animals was awarded a 2023 grant by the Maryland Department of Agriculture as part of their Spay and Neuter Program designed to reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs euthanized in shelters across the state. After special procedures all animals are kept safe in the recovery room under constant supervision. Our team can examine and quickly check on any animal in the recovery area after a procedure. Here Dr. Jessy and one of our technicians is checking out a cat after a procedure. Each holding pen is cleaned regularly and the room is secure and safe.
