Symmes Chapel (“Pretty Place”) – Our camp chapel sits on the edge of a cliff and looks out over the Piedmont region of South Carolina. Symmes Chapel is open to the public except for when it is reserved for weddings, special events or camp programs. By the time we got to Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place), the rain had completely stopped, and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the fog lifting from the surrounding mountains as the backdrop to Diego and Cynthia’s Pretty Place Wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, we drove back down the mountain for some photos at the Visitor’s Center at Table Rock.

The chapel is built on Cleveland Cliff affording spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is a great place to just unwind, contemplate, meditate, pray…whatever you prefer. If you are in the Hendersonville, NC, Asheville, NC or Greenville, SC area plan a visit…you will be happy you did. Visited March 2023.
