I would buy it over the glock 19 or P365, but it's about $300 more expensive and since I considered it only marginally better than the G19, it was hard to justify the price difference. I'd say it's much better (for me) than the P365. All told, an excellent offering.Goodness. The P365 with the short magazine is exactly 1.0" shorter than the G43X. After you add the extended magazine, the measurement closes down to 0.09". These will give the Glock 42 a definite advantage. The Glock 42 is the better option if concealing the gun with minimal displaying is preferred.
In that respect, both guns are virtually identical. The Glock is marginally shorter at 4.25" in height versus the P365's 4.3". I wouldn't worry about that .050". Both guns are just over an inch wide. With the SIG stock grip module, the grip is 1.77" from front to back while the G43 is 1.99".

That said, it’s still in the position where people with any hand size should be able to reach it. The slide lock on all these guns is only on the left-hand side of the gun (set up for a right-handed shooter).
If the P365 XL is as reliable as a Glock, the 48 is in trouble, IMHO. 365xl is 12/15 +1, rmr cutout and a sig optic coming out sub $200 that fits it. Plus it has the X series trigger!!
