Feb 19, 2021 · This build is mostly to be used as a Plex media server/PVR system. I am brand new to Unraid so would appreciate any tips on installing PLEX and my library over from my Windows machine. My main reason for this post is that I bought and installed the 120gb SSD to be used as a cache drive for the PLEX app data.Stop the array. Assign the 12TB as parity drive. Stop array, unassign cache device, shut down, physically swap cache drive, power back up. 3. Assign new cache device to slot, start array, format new cache drive, set appdata share back to cache prefer, run mover. Invoke the mover. Check cache drive is clear. Stop array replace drive. Return the shares to using the cache drive where applicable. Close but you actually set the app data share to yes to move data off when mover runs. Then you set it back to prefer after the new drive is installed to mover it back.Cache is independent of the array. What you needed to do is install the new cache drive, copy the data from the old cache to the new cache, then remove the old cache drive. Another way to go about that is to change the cache settings on your shares.
