I really thinking placing trophies should prevent that particular spawn. Putting up a bunch of troll heads on pikes should realistically prevent trolls from wanting to go near that place. Also it works well for game balance since you only prevent that one particular mob from spawning and you first have to kill it a bunch to get that trophy in the first place.

If i build up the ground around the one that spawns, all 3 butt-munches spawn and the next spawn point becomes active. Maybe they spawn in sequence at each point and by creating a farm, I'm breaking the spawn mechanic. Someone would need to look at the code to be sure.Found a great solution for mobs spawning in my base. I have a large moat and fence but mobs kept spawning inside. Then I started breeding wolves. I have about 15-30 roaming the place at any given time and the drops from spawning mobs I usually use to breed more wolves. 11.There is a limit per area. I usually pen off an area that's about 3x5 squares and I tend to end up with about a max of 10 boars, no matter how much I feed them after that point. Even burned-out torches prevent spawns, they can't be reached by any wandering critters, and they're totally invisible. I have a totally-undefended dock building in the black forest.
