Some turns when i'm at war, i hover the enemy cities. In some turn, it says minor, the next turn it says major. Some turn it's the other way around.

Joint war is considered a surprise war, denouncing them first does nothing. Declaring a holy/liberation war will have less penalties but deprive you of an ally. Then again, the warmonger penalties will probably drive your "ally" in a joint war away anyway. Well, I'm right, due to a technicality in the way a formulated my answer. I never mentioned any other diplomatic penalties in my original post, I was only talking about the warmonger penalty. Now, I'm not sure how right the civ wiki is, but I think there are separate penalties for denouncing people and for going to war (warmongering).

Another solution is to drop an Atom bomb or a Nuclear bomb on the enemies capital or cities, it will wipe out your ally troops if your lucky, as well as there cities. Then you don't have to worry about anyone giving you a warmonger penalty, becuase they wont be around. ;) #7. This is my very first civ 6 game. France declared a Surprise War on me and I responded by wiping her from the map.
