What to Expect. TERRAIN/ROUTE: Enjoy exploring the Andes, Sacred Valley, and the ruins of Machu Picchu. We will hike a few miles of uneven trail with elevation change each day. Altitude varies from 12,000 feet at the highest, to 9,000 feet at Machu Picchu. When we are at higher elevations we will walk slow and take some time to get acclimated.
